Redwork Lace....OLD becomes NEW, again.

Redwork Lace is the name I gave to a quilt I designed as part of an AccuQuilt Challenge using shapes from the 4" & 8" Qubes. The reason for the name is that the pattern reminded me of the old technique of stitching with red yard or thread on a white or off white background. Mostly it was embroidered but quilters got involved and started using the red/white concept on quilts.


My "modern" version is totally machine made, not one hand stitch! All the blocks were cut with AccuQuilt dies, though I did have to rotary cut a few large squares for the blank spaces in the quilt. Free motion quilted on a Bernina longarm. Binding done on a traditional sewing machine.


The pattern is available free from AccuQuilt, just go to the "Patterns" tab and look for the free or new patterns. Not sure how long it will be given away but it is available now.
